Year 1/2 - Miss Wilson

Welcome to Year 1/2

Hello! Welcome to our class page. Here is some information about our class that we hope you find useful.

Teacher- Miss Wilson

A bit about me... This will be my first year working at Crindau Primary but I have worked as a Foundation Phase teacher for nearly 10 years! I used to work as a Year 2 teacher in Cwmbran before working as supply cover which is where some of you may recognise me! I have briefly taught at Crindau before and always hoped I would be lucky enough to return!  I live with my very naughty but lovable pug called Lola. If I'm not in school, I'm either taking Lola for long walks at the park, spending time with my family and friends, or getting creative. I have one older brother who I am very close with but don't get to see very much as he lives in another country. I love to teach Art because I enjoy getting messy and having fun! I also love to get outdoors as much as possible, come rain or shine!

I am so excited to start the new academic year with you all and make some wonderful memories together.

Teaching Assistant- Mrs Parker

A bit about me... I have worked in Crindau for 22 years. 18 of those years were based in the learning centres and after a very short break, I have rejoined Crindau to work alongside Miss. Wilson. I have grown up children so the baby of the family is my very spoilt dog called Coco. I enjoy the outdoors, cross stitch and crafts.

General Information

Here is some general information about our class:

Home Learning

Google Classroom: If needed, to access any work, please use your Hwb username, password and the class code which is - d4olfbx

Book Bags

When we start to read in groups the children will take their book bags home on a Tuesday and a Friday. The book will be familiar to them as they will have read it in class with a teacher. They are bringing it home to practise reading it to you. Please take the time to listen to the book with them and return the book bags on the days above so they can be changed for a new book.

Word books

On a Friday, your child will come home with their Word Book. Please practise reading the words with your child at home and return the book the following Tuesday. They will be kept in school that week for your child to read with the teachers in class and when they are confident reading the words, we will write new words to practise.

Morning Snack and Water Bottles

Please can you make sure your child has a drink bottle that they can use throughout the day. We also have water bottles with each child's name on for water that will remain in the class for them to use throughout the day too!

We are able to provide a carton of milk at Morning Snack time to those that would like one. Please can you make sure that your child has a healthy snack to eat in the morning, ideally a piece of fruit, if not fruit then a healthy snack option. They find it a long morning if they have no snack to eat!

We are not collecting the usual £1 per week at the moment and will let you know when this starts again.

P.E./ Outdoor Learning

The children have 3 outdoor sessions during the day, these will be a mixture of free play and focussed activities. Our indoor PE sessions are on a Wednesday morning and Friday afternoon, therefore, can all kit can be brought in for these days.
